Halima El-Glaoui
Halima El-Glaoui is editor-in-chief of Prologues: revue maghrébine du livre, a French-Arabic literary and cultural review based in Casablanca, and professor of French at the Ecole Nationale de l’Industrie Minérale in Rabat, Morocco. The following essay is based on a talk presented on 23 July 1998 at the International Forum for Democratic Studies in Washington, D.C. It was translated from the French by Zerxes Spencer and Alexandre Lamy.
