Peter Hakim is president of the Inter-American Dialogue, the leading U.S. center for policy analysis and exchange on Western Hemisphere affairs. He writes and speaks widely on hemispheric issues. His articles have appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Financial Times, and the Christian Science Monitor.

Abraham F. Lowenthal

Abraham F. Lowenthal is the founding president of the Pacific Council on International Policy, an independent, nonpartisan international leadership forum. A professor of international relations at the University of Southern California and a vice president of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, he was also the founding director of the Inter-American Dialogue, and before that, of the Latin American Program at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C.
