José María Maravall

José María Maravall is professor in the Center for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences at the Juan March Institute in Madrid, professor of sociology at the Complutense University of Madrid, and an honorary fellow at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University. He has served as a member of parliament (1986-89) and as minister of education and science (1982-88) in Spain’s social democratic government. His most recent publication (with Luiz Carlos Bresser Pereira and Adam Przeworski) is Economic Reforms in New Democracies: A Social Democratic Approach (1993).
