To mark the occasion, a panel discussion—"Is Democracy in Decline?"—featuring coeditors Larry Diamond and Marc Plattner, as well as contributors to the 25th anniversary issue Thomas Carothers, Alina Mungiu-Pippidi, Steven Levitsky,and Lucan Way, will be held at the Hotel Monaco in Washington, DC, on January 29 at 4:15 pm. The National Endowment for Democracy and Johns Hopkins University Press are cosponsoring the event.
