Broken Promises: Hong Kong Faces 1997

Martin C.M. Lee is chairman of Hong Kong’s Democratic Party and a member of its Legislative Council. He is a lawyer and a former chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association. In April 1997 the National Endowment for Democracy presented him with its Democracy Award in recognition of his contributions to the democratic cause in Hong Kong.

Tom Boasberg, a graduate of Stanford Law School, served as Mr. Lee’s senior assistant from 1990 to 1992.
