About the Author
Inge Tvedten, a research fellow at the Chr. Michelsen Institute (Department of Social Science and Development) in Bergen, Norway, spent three years in Angola as a socioeconomic advisor to the ministry of fisheries, and has published extensively on the country. He was an observer during the 1992 Angolan elections, and is currently writing a study of Angola that will be published by Westview Press in a series on the nations of contemporary Africa.
